B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology

The Department of Medical Imaging Technology at KVGMCH, offers excellent clinical practice for the students with state-of-the-art facilities like Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Medical Imaging Technology course under KVG Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Sullia, constituent college of KVG   Medical College was started in the year 2019. The course is specifically designed to prepare the graduates to pursue their career in national and international growing healthcare industry. The course trains undergraduate students to work as Medical Imaging Technologists under various diagnostic modalities such as Ultra Sound, CT and MRI scan.

The department of Radio diagnosis provides 24 x 7 service in the hospital for both diagnosis and therapy, the department is equipped with state of art equipment along with trained and efficient staff to providing quality care.

Eligibility for admission:

A candidate seeking admission to the BSc. Medical Imaging Technology shall have studied English as one of the principal subject during the tenure of the course and shall have passed:

  1. Two year Pre-University examination or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects of study.

OR

  1. Pre-Degree course from a recognized University considered as equivalent by RGUHS, (Two years after ten years of schooling) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects of study.

OR

  1. Any equivalent examination recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore for the above purpose with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects of study.

OR

  1. The vocational higher secondary education course conducted by Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in addition to vocational subjects conducted is considered equivalent to plus TWO Examinations of Government of Karnataka Pre University Course.

OR

  1. Candidates with two years diploma from a recognized Government Board in Medical Imaging Technology shall have passed class 12 [10+2] with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as subjects or candidates with 3 years diploma from a recognized Government Board in Medical Imaging Technology should have studied Physics, Biology and Chemistry as subjects during the tenure of the course.
  2. Lateral entry to second year of B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology for candidates who have passed diploma program from the Government Boards and recognized by RGUHS.
  3. The candidate shall have passed individually in each of the subjects.
  4. Candidates who have completed diploma or vocational course through Correspondence shall not be eligible for any of the courses mentioned above.

Duration of the course:

Duration shall be for a period of four years including one year of Internship.

Medium of instruction:

The medium of instruction and examination shall be in English.

Scheme of examination:

There shall be three examinations one each at the end of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year.
